Call Forwarding on Bell, Rogers and Telus: What Each Carrier Says

By Right On Call ·

You can forward the calls you miss to an answering service from Bell, Rogers or Telus, but each carrier handles it differently and one of them will charge you per minute. This guide sticks to what each carrier’s own support page says. Where a page gives no dial code, we do not print one from memory.

Rogers

Its mobile help page lists a "no reply" code (*61*) and warns that conditional forwarding does not work while voicemail is activated, so turn voicemail off first. We could not confirm the postpaid fee, so ask. Prepaid reports from users are mixed.

Bell

Bell’s support page says call forwarding can be added to a plan for a monthly fee or used pay-per-use at $0.25 a minute, and its product page lists a $10 monthly add-on. Forwarding to a landline can save airtime on some plans.

We could not cite a Bell dial code for no-answer forwarding, so we do not give one. Ask Bell which forward type is on your plan: busy, no answer and unreachable are separate settings, and only no answer rings your phone first. Source: Bell support, "how to use call forwarding on my mobile phone".

Telus

Its support page describes forwarding unanswered calls to another number and notes that service charges may apply. Ask which charge applies on your plan before you turn it on.

Before you set any of them

Forward on no answer, not forward on unreachable. They are different features, and an answering service only helps on the first.

The ring count is the carrier’s no-answer timer, so test it with a real call from another phone. If you forward all calls after hours instead, the same test applies.

  • Ask the carrier what forwarded minutes cost on your plan.
  • Turn voicemail off if the carrier says it blocks conditional forwarding.
  • Call your own number from another phone and let it ring out.

Where Right On Call fits

A Twilio number is included on every paying plan. Use it as the public line, or keep your existing number and forward to it. When the carrier forwards an unanswered call, it lands on that number and the AI answers. If the carrier never forwards, the AI never sees the call.

Carrier pages checked 2026-10-27. Re-check your plan before you rely on a fee.

Rogers lists a code, Bell lists a fee, and Telus says charges may apply. Read your own plan, set no-answer forwarding, and test it with a call before you trust it with a customer.
