How this compares
Rough monthly cost for keeping an Ontario service line answered. Human receptionist figures are typical market rates, not a quote.
| Option | Rough monthly | Hours covered | Ends the call with |
|---|---|---|---|
| Voicemail | $0 | 24/7 | A message, if they leave one |
| Traditional answering service | $100–$400 | 24/7 | A message, emailed to you |
| Part-time human receptionist | $2,000+ | Business hours | A booked job, during their shift |
| Right On Call | $199 CAD to $449 CAD + overage | 24/7 | A triaged, dispatched, or booked job |

Pricing questions
How much does an AI receptionist cost?
Essential is $199 CAD a month with 200 answered minutes, plus $699 CAD setup paid once. Managed is $449 CAD a month with 500 minutes, one job system connected, and a named contact, plus $1,299 CAD setup. Pay for the year instead and you get 12 months for the price of 11 with no setup fee: $2,189 CAD for Essential or $4,939 CAD for Managed. Minutes past the plan are $0.70 CAD on Essential and $0.60 CAD on Managed, billed to the second. Enterprise is quoted per account. Prices in Canadian dollars, plus HST. Outside Canada the same plans are priced in US dollars: Essential is $150 USD a month plus $500 USD setup, Managed $349 USD plus $999 USD, and overage $0.50 USD and $0.45 USD. The plan cards switch between the two.
Which plan should I be on?
Essential fits an owner-operator or a single crew with one public number, running on a calendar or Jobber. Support is by email, one business day, Monday to Friday Eastern. Managed fits a team with several techs on rotation and a field-service or property system the phone has to write into. It is still one business and one public number. Enterprise starts at several locations or numbers, or when a security or legal team reviews the vendor first. The free missed-call audit settles it against your real call logs, and we will say so if the smaller plan covers you.
Why is there a setup fee?
Because every line is built for one business: the script for your trade, your emergency rules and service area, the calendar or job-system connection, forwarding from your number, and a private test line before you go live. It is paid once, it is waived if you pay for the year, and it comes back in full if you use the 30-day guarantee.
How does annual billing work?
You pay for 12 months up front at the price of 11, and there is no setup fee. On Essential that is $2,189 CAD a year, $898 CAD less than monthly in year one. On Managed it is $4,939 CAD, $1,748 CAD less. Minutes past the plan are still billed monthly at your plan's rate. The 30-day guarantee refunds the whole annual payment. After that the year is paid and not refunded, the same way a monthly invoice already billed is not. At the end of the year you choose: renew annual, move to monthly with no setup fee, or stop. We remind you 30 days before the year ends. If you do not choose, the plan moves to monthly at the monthly price, with no setup fee, and you can cancel it with 30 days’ notice like any monthly plan. An annual plan never renews as another prepaid year without your say-so.
What is the 30-day money-back guarantee?
Ask in writing or by text within 30 days of the receptionist going live on your public number, for any reason, and we refund the setup fee and the first month, or the whole annual payment if you paid for the year, then take the call forwarding off your line. The clock starts at go-live, not the day you signed. Minutes past your plan stay billed, and separately quoted integration work already delivered is not refunded. After day 30, invoices already billed stay billed. It is a refund, not a promise of recovered jobs.
Is there a contract or minimum term?
Not on monthly. Setup is paid once, and after the first month you can cancel anytime with 30 days’ notice. Annual is optional: a year paid up front in exchange for no setup fee and one month free.
Can I move between plans?
Yes, in both directions, at the start of a billing month. Moving up from Essential to Managed costs the difference in setup rather than a second setup fee, because the build carries over. Moving down takes effect on the next invoice.
What does “one job system connected” mean on Managed?
During setup we build one connection into the field-service or property software you already run, so a booked call lands there as a job or a work order instead of a text someone retypes. That can be ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, AppFolio, Buildium, or a similar system. Jobber is different: it connects from the dashboard on every plan, including Essential, and creates a client and a job. A second system on Managed, or any system other than Jobber on Essential, is scoped and quoted as part of setup.
What counts as a billable minute?
Connected talk time on answered calls, billed to the second. A call that lasts 3:35 bills as 3.58 minutes, not 4. As overage on Essential that is $2.51 CAD, not the $2.80 CAD a vendor who rounds every call up would charge. Rings nobody reaches, hangups before connection, and the SMS confirmation and photo intake after the call are not billable.
What happens if I go over my included minutes?
You pay for the minutes you went over, as one line on the monthly invoice, and nothing else changes. You are not moved up a plan, the month is not re-rated, and nobody calls you about upgrading. The rate is $0.70 CAD a minute on Essential and $0.60 CAD on Managed, below what an included minute works out to. If your Essential months run past about 900 minutes, Managed works out cheaper, and we will tell you so.
What costs extra?
On Essential, a language beyond English and French is $69 CAD a month (Punjabi, Mandarin, Spanish are ready to train; others on request), and instant lead callback will be $79 CAD a month once it ships. It is not built yet, and nobody is billed for it until it is. Managed includes one extra language and lead callback. Job systems other than Jobber are scoped and quoted, apart from the one included on Managed. SMS confirmation, photo intake, script building, telephony, and ongoing tuning are in every plan.
Do you offer a free trial?
Not a self-serve trial, because every line is built for one business. What is free is the missed-call audit. After go-live, the first 30 days are covered by the money-back guarantee.
More questions on the full FAQ. Every plan answers the calls you already get. Getting you more of them is a separate retainer on /growth.
