About

A boutique build, from London, Ontario.

Right On Call exists because the phone is still where small service businesses win or lose the job, and because most of what is sold as voice AI is a template with a logo swapped in.

Why we started with the phone

A homeowner with water pooling under the sink does not leave a voicemail. The unanswered ring is the most expensive thing in a small shop, and the least visible, because it never appears on a P&L as a line item.

Voicemail captures nothing. An answering service takes a message but cannot book the calendar. A part-time receptionist covers forty hours of a hundred and sixty-eight hour week. We build the thing that closes that gap: you keep your number, you answer if you can, and we book or dispatch when you cannot.

Our founding customer

The first Right On Call receptionist was built for My Appliance Pro, an appliance-repair business in London, Ontario. After-hours triage, Canadian postal codes, and on-call dispatch rather than a message pad. We sat inside the first real calls and tuned what sounded unlike the shop. See the home-services build.

How we work

One build at a time

We are not a self-serve platform with a sales team attached. Each receptionist is scripted around one business: its hours, its service area, its definition of an emergency, its on-call roster. That limits how many customers we can take on at once, and we would rather say that than pretend otherwise.

Keep the number you already have

Most shops stay on Virgin, Bell, or whoever they use today. Calls ring your phone first. If you do not pick up, they forward to us. Porting the line is available if you later want dashboard ring-count and a hard off switch. Neither path changes the number on the truck.

Guardrails in code, not in a prompt

The receptionist cannot invent an appointment slot, diagnose a fault, or quote a repair. Gas, smoke, or spark reports take a bounded safety script and an immediate human callback.

The audit comes before the pitch

Every engagement starts with looking at your actual call logs. If the missed-call number is small, that is a real outcome and we will tell you.

Start with the numbers

The free missed-call audit uses your real call logs. No commitment, and an honest answer either way.
