Lead sources

Live today

The number on the site and the truck answers either way.

Click-to-call buttons, a phone number on the truck, a card on the fridge. None of them is a lead source with an API. They are all a number. Right On Call answers the number, and follows up with a text when someone hangs up before they book.

How the connection actually works

What actually happens

A visitor taps the phone number on your site, or dials the number off your truck. If you don’t pick up, the call is forwarded to the Twilio number included in your plan and the receptionist answers in your shop name. If you would rather publish the Twilio number itself, the receptionist answers first.

The hang-up text

When a call ends without a booking, the caller can get one text from your number. With the SMS agent switched on, a reply can book by text. Without it, the reply is passed to your team by text. Texts only go to regions your account allows, and Canadian numbers are the ones delivering today.

What we don’t read

Website forms, chat widgets, and email are not connected. Nothing reads them, and nothing calls a form lead back. A phone call is the only thing the receptionist answers.

Daytime and after hours

During the day

You decide who answers first. Keep your number in front and take the call if you can; what you miss reaches the receptionist. Prefer the AI on the first ring? Publish the included number.

After hours

The receptionist answers whenever the agent is on, or you can send the line to a forward or voicemail while it is off. Hours and after-hours rules are set from the dashboard.

What setup looks like

This is the baseline every other lead source rides on.

  1. Pick a path for your number

Forward on no answer to the included Twilio number, publish the Twilio number, or port your number. The Keep your number page walks each one.

  2. Put the number where people look

Website header, the click-to-call button, the truck, the voicemail greeting. They can all stay as they are.

  3. Decide the hang-up text

Leave it on, or ask for it off. It never goes to a number outside your allowed regions.

Limits and edge cases

  • A forward from a carrier is only as fast as the carrier. Some carriers ring longer than you would like before forwarding. The Keep your number page covers the Ontario carriers.
  • Texts to US numbers are not delivering yet. Texts to Canadian numbers are.
  • A caller who replies STOP is not texted again.

This is for

  • Shops with a website phone button and a truck with a number on it.
  • Anyone starting small who wants one number covered before anything else.

This isn't

  • Shops that need a website chatbot. This is a phone product.

What we won't claim

  • Read your website contact form, chat widget, or email inbox by default.
  • Embed a chat bubble on your site.
  • Call a web-form lead back. That is not built.

Website & missed calls questions

Do I have to change my number?

No. You can keep it and forward on no answer, publish the included number, or port. See Keep your number for the three paths.

What does the caller who hangs up get?

One text from your number inviting them to reply. If the SMS agent is on, a reply can book by text. Otherwise the reply is passed to your team by text. The caller can say STOP at any time.

Is a number included?

Yes. A Twilio number is part of every paying plan. SMS confirmations and escalation texts run on it.
