AI receptionist for appliance repair shops

Every appliance gets its own first question.

Appliance repair is where Right On Call started. Our first customer is an appliance repair shop in London, Ontario, and the product was built around its calls: a fridge that is warm, a washer that will not drain, an oven that will not heat before a holiday. It picks up what the shop cannot get to and books the diagnostic visit.

When appliance repair shops miss the call

Keep your number. If you are free, you take the call like you always have. These are the moments the phone rings out anyway, and the ones Right On Call is built to catch.

Mid-diagnostic with the machine apart

The back panel is off and the multimeter is out. The call rings out.

Between stops across the city

You are driving. The caller wants an answer now.

Evenings when the fridge is warm

Families find the problem at dinner, after the shop has closed.

The week before a holiday dinner

Nobody wants to cook Thanksgiving in an oven that will not heat.

When a missed call costs the most

Fridges and freezers struggle in July heat. Ovens and ranges get called about before Thanksgiving in October and the December holidays. Typical pattern, not your call log.

Urgent or routine: how it sorts appliance repair calls

Typical lists. Yours is written with you at setup.

Urgent: your on-call phone, now

  • Fridge or freezer not cooling with food at risk
  • Sparking, smoke, or a burning smell (safety script and a human callback)
  • Washer or dishwasher leaking onto the floor

Routine: booked into your calendar

  • Dryer not heating or not tumbling
  • Dishwasher not draining or not cleaning
  • Oven or cooktop not heating
  • Error codes on any appliance

How the call goes

Illustrative
  1. Caller

My fridge stopped cooling. Can someone come tomorrow?

  2. Receptionist

I’m sorry. Is it not getting cold, is there water leaking, or is it making an unusual noise?

  3. Caller

Not getting cold. It’s a Samsung, maybe six years old.

  4. Receptionist

Thanks. Is it still under the manufacturer’s warranty?

  5. Caller

    No, it’s not.

  6. Receptionist

The earliest I can book a refrigerator visit is Tuesday between 1 and 3. The diagnostic visit is [your fee]. I’ll also let the shop know you’d like sooner, in case they can fit you in.

  7. Caller

    Tuesday works.

  8. Receptionist

You’re booked for Tuesday, 1 to 3. We’ll text you so you can reply with a photo or short video of the issue for the technician to review before the visit.

Illustrative. The first question is the one configured for refrigerators. The time is the earliest the calendar returned after the lead time you set. Because the caller asked for sooner, the shop gets a text to call if it can.

What your tech has before the truck leaves

  • Appliance type, brand, and model
  • The symptom, from a question written for that appliance
  • Whether it is still under manufacturer warranty
  • Address with Canadian postal code
  • A photo or short video of the issue, requested by text
  • Your diagnostic fee, stated to the caller

Why Right On Call for appliance repair

Built on real appliance calls

Per-appliance follow-up questions, warranty capture, and photo intake came from a working London shop, not a template.

Lead times you set are kept

If fridges need five days for parts, it will not book one for tomorrow. It books the earliest allowed slot and tells you the caller wanted sooner.

Your fee, and only your fee

It states the diagnostic or service-call fee you set. It never guesses at a repair or parts price.

What it will not do

  • Diagnose the fault or say what part has failed.
  • Quote a repair or parts price. It states only your diagnostic fee.
  • Book sooner than the lead time you set for that appliance.
  • Check whether a part is in. Job-status calls go to your team for a callback.

Appliance repair questions

Can an AI receptionist book appliance repair appointments?

Yes. Right On Call checks your live Cal.com or Calendly availability, offers only times the calendar returned, and books the visit. It respects the lead time you set per appliance and sends the caller a confirmation text.

Does it ask about the warranty?

Yes, once, during intake. The answer goes on the booking notes. It is never a reason to refuse a booking.

What if a customer calls to ask if their part is in?

The receptionist cannot see job status, so it does not guess. It takes the caller’s details and passes the call to your team for a callback.
