Calendars

Live today

An office on Outlook can still be booked.

If the office runs on Microsoft 365, the calendar that matters is the one in Outlook. Right On Call reaches it through Cal.com, which connects to Outlook and Microsoft 365 calendars, so the receptionist only offers times Outlook shows as free.

How the connection actually works

How it connects

You connect Outlook inside Cal.com, then connect Cal.com to Right On Call. The receptionist asks Cal.com for open times and books the event type you Saved. Cal.com writes the booking to the Outlook calendar. Right On Call never talks to Microsoft.

What gets booked

The same Cal.com booking as any other calendar: name, phone, and address as the location. The visit length is the event type’s duration.

The direct option

If you don’t want Cal.com in the middle, a direct Microsoft Graph connection is a scoped build, on request. It is not a toggle in the dashboard today.

Daytime and after hours

During the day

Events already on your Outlook calendar block the slot, so a receptionist booking can’t land on top of them.

After hours

Evening calls are offered the next free windows on the calendar. A time is only said aloud if it is open.

What setup looks like

Two connections, both in the browser.

  1. Add Outlook inside Cal.com

In Cal.com, connect your Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar so busy time blocks availability.

  2. Connect Cal.com to Right On Call

In the Right On Call dashboard, open Integrations and connect Cal.com.

  3. Save the event type

Pick the event type and Save.

Limits and edge cases

  • A Microsoft 365 tenant that blocks third-party app access can stop Cal.com from connecting. That is a Microsoft admin setting, not ours.
  • Only calendars connected inside Cal.com count toward availability.

This is for

  • Offices on Microsoft 365 that book visits from an Outlook calendar.

This isn't

  • Organisations that forbid Cal.com on policy and need a direct connection. Ask for the scoped build.

What we won't claim

  • Call Microsoft Graph directly.
  • Read your email or contacts.
  • Change meetings that already exist on the calendar.

Outlook / Microsoft 365 questions

Is this a native Outlook integration?

Not native. It is live through Cal.com, which handles the Outlook connection. A direct Graph connection is on request.

Do my staff need to change how they use Outlook?

No. Bookings appear on the Outlook calendar as events.

What if our calendar is shared by several techs?

The receptionist books against the one event type you Saved. Assigning a tech stays your call.
