Head to head
Rosie vs Goodcall.
Rosie and Goodcall are both self-serve AI phone agents: you sign up, describe your business, and it answers. The real difference is the meter. Rosie sells bundles of minutes. Goodcall counts distinct phone numbers that reach the agent each month and doesn’t limit minutes.
Written by Right On Call, which competes with both. Their details checked September 26, 2026; sources are listed below.
Pick Rosie if
- You get a handful of short calls a week.
- You want the lowest entry price and a free trial.
- You want live transfer, and the tier that includes it fits your budget.
Pick Goodcall if
- Most of your calls come from the same customers.
- Your calls run long and minute bundles would hurt.
- You like building and adjusting flows yourself.
Side by side
The two of them, with Right On Call in the last column so you can see where a receptionist built for trades differs from both.
| Topic | Rosie | Goodcall | Right On Call |
|---|---|---|---|
| What is metered | Minutes, in bundles | Distinct phone numbers per month; minutes unlimited | Connected talk time, to the second |
| Entry price | About US$49 a month for 250 minutes | About US$79 a month for 100 unique callers | $199 CAD a month for 200 answered minutes, then $0.70 CAD a minute |
| Busy season | Reviews disagree: per-minute charge or a move up a tier | About US$0.50 for each new caller past the cap | $0.70 CAD a minute past 200. Same plan |
| Booking and transfer | On the US$149 tier and up, per reviews | Flows you configure | Live Cal.com or Calendly availability. It cannot offer a time the calendar didn’t return |
| Who builds the call flow | You, from a business description and FAQs | You, with templates and logic flows | We write the script, triage, and call flow for your shop, test it on your number, and tune it after launch |

What Rosie costs
Published in US dollars as minute bundles: about $49 a month for 250 minutes, $149 for 1,000, and $299 for 2,000, with a free trial and no setup fee. Independent reviews report that booking, live transfer, and mid-call texting sit on the $149 tier and up, and they disagree on whether going over is a per-minute charge or a move to the next tier. Ask before you sign.
What Goodcall costs
Published in US dollars: about $79, $129, and $249 a month for 100, 250, and 500 unique callers, with unlimited minutes and about $0.50 for each extra unique caller. Lower if billed annually.
Where Right On Call fits
A trade shop’s missed calls are mostly new numbers and short calls, which suits a minute meter more than a caller meter. But the bigger difference from both is who builds the agent and what the call ends with.
With Rosie or Goodcall you write the flow and the call ends as whatever you configured, often a summary you return. Right On Call is written for your trade by a person: emergency triage, the follow-up question for each job type, your postal codes, a safety script for gas or sparks. The call ends with the client and job in Jobber or a slot on your live calendar.
Choose Right On Call if
- After-hours emergencies are real revenue for you.
- You want the build and the tuning done for you.
- You want the job on your board before morning.
Where all three sit
You build it → built for you
Built for the calls you miss, not to replace the people who answer
Right On Call can answer every call if you want it to. That isn’t what it is built for. It is built so that a call you would have missed, on a roof, in a crawlspace, at lunch, after 5, on a Saturday, gets picked up and ends as a booked job instead of a voicemail nobody returns.
Why Right On Call →Rosie vs Goodcall: questions
Which is cheaper for a trade shop, Rosie or Goodcall?
Count your distinct callers and your minutes from one busy month. Trade calls in a cold snap are mostly new numbers and short, which usually favours a minute bundle like Rosie’s over Goodcall’s caller count. Then check which Rosie tier you need for booking and what happens when you go over.
What does a done-for-you receptionist cost by comparison?
Right On Call is $199 CAD a month for 200 minutes and $699 CAD setup once, with no term. That is more than either self-serve product to start. The setup pays for a person writing and testing your call flow, which you otherwise do yourself.
